Hole in the Floor
I understand how I can add a hole by first extruding a box then extruding a removal of an offset, but that sort of makes it necessary to clutter up the master sketch. I was trying to be more tidy and do the hole later, preferably in a derived document, but then: 1. there is no hole 2. we can see the walls of the hole…

Derived Parts (Sketch in particular)
It would be a a massive improvement in parametric functionality if Derived Parts (Sketch in particular) could be inserted into an open Sketch of a Master Part Studio. This provides flexibility to use Derived Sketches in skewed planes and also multiple Derivations from the one sketch (eg Beam X-Section).

transform derived parts based on part's edges in this part studio??
I probably just don't understand how to use transform by line but I haven't been able to figure this out: I generate shapes for boolean cutouts and extrude them in a second part studio then add them as derived. But now, I want to line them up a certain distance from my part's edge. It seems simple but Distance parameters…

Base model and variable change
I am looking for a way how to derived a part and change height variable. I am designing set of boxes for electronics. All of them have same base model, but with different height. The simplest way is to use derived feature and change the height variable. But this is not possible right now. So I am copying the base model…

Change variable values after mergeContext / importDerived?
Now, I might be dreaming, but I'd really love this to be possible. Is there a way to Change variable values after using mergeContext or importDerived to import geometry from another PS? This would allow several morphologically different instances of the same geometry. I figured since variables are added to the context,…

I want to gather solidworks parts into a part studio and continue working on them there. How?
Derived parts are cumbersome as you have to modify each part in a seperate browser tab, then create new versions etc: very messy. It seems by far the best way is to make an assembly of the parts in solidworks and pack&go it then import the lot. Is that true? However, if I find later I've left some of the parts out of the…

Designing Around Third-party Assemblies
I am a new OS user and I'm trying to figure out how to migrate my processes from Solidworks. One thing that I miss is editing parts within the context of an assembly. I know that it is being investigated and that the current suggestion is to model everything in a parts studio. This works well in most cases, however, I…
