I am working as a software engineer, but had a chance to study mechatronics/robotics a few years ago, and this is were I came into contact with SolidWorks and fell in love with this tool. Sad to say that I only got to work with it as a student :-(
So I was really happy when I found out about Onshape - this is what I was looking for - a substitute for SolidWorks. And the bonus is that it is OS independent and my drawings are accessibly from everywhere.
