Re: silhouette edge for revolved parts

Lonnie. You're quite right. This capability was added only recently, and either flew under my radar or I failed to lock onto it. Before posting, I checked Onshape help for silhouette edge (Search didn't find it, but that's presumably because my browser was getting chronically stuck in endless loops, because now I do find… -
Hole limit?
I considered using points along with circular and linear repeats to create a hole pattern such as one used in a speaker grille or shower head. But when I select them the hole feature fails due to too many (> 100) holes. Short of painstakingly selecting < 100 and repeating the process until all are done, is there a better… -

How to choose a vector and draw a simple circle in FS?

I am building a feature to create a tabbed slot. It's a hole cut through with a rectangle inside it. It mates with an extrusion with a tab on either side. You fit these parts together and give them 1/4 turn and they lock together. btw, I'm not new to programming. I've been a developer for years now but this live query… -
How to I flip the orientation of a split
I split an initial monolithic part in two using a surface and then renamed each part. I then created hundreds of features to refine each part. I had a manufacturing issue that forced me to change the original split surface (extrusion of a sketch). But this new surface, I guess, has its normal flipped compared to the… -
How do I create clearance for an existing part I'm creating a holder/mount for? Boolean offset fail

I can not seem to figure out what… -
Help please with custom profile for BEAMS FS

Hi folks. It would appear that I've failed miserably to add a profile to the excellent beams FS. Setting it up in accordance with @NeilCooke 's video seemed to go perfectly, but when I come to use it it throws an error of:- "Attempt to dereference non-container undefined" Thinking I might have made a mess of the profile I… -
Re: Importing Data Points from a CSV File
Neil, I've looked at my text file and the format appears to be correct. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with hidden characters associated with carriage return / line feeds or something like that. My original text files that work were created on a PC running windows. My new text file was imported from a Mac. On my Mac I… -
Re: Introduction to CAD: In-Context Part Design 2

If you edit your sketch 2, you should be able to use the 'Use' command and select that filleted edge. Or, you can use the extend command, select the line you want to extend and move it beyond that other line. So we have a sketch that looks roughly like this. I have moved the camera off-center a bit to show that there is a… -
FILL: Merge With All vs. Merge Scope

As this is my first community question, would like to start by saying: THANK YOU Onshape! I use CAD for hobbying/make and have come across from Sketchup (please don't judge me! ) Also, Happy New Year!! I have been learning by creating a tubular mitre/web. For far too long I could not figure out why I was…
