Re: How to put a groove into a curved surface
@kenn_sebesta167 you’re welcome Kenn https://cad.onshape.com/documents/74f569a1eedd2fa50990e153/w/d37b3ec6c1aba6e68e466f85/e/1b24dbf682983aa81dfefdab Here’s a more recent document Over the weekend I’ll try and give a little explanation as to what all these different Part Studios are about. And maybe, what the advantages of… -
What would be the best way to have an assert on a variable
Is it possible to give a warning if I'm about to do something stupid with variables? For example. If I'm designing a block and I put in a line diameter of 12mm and I have a sheave width that is <12mm it would inform me that the sheave width must be greater than line diameter? I mean I suppose I could model the rope and it… -
Why are my variables not working when set for feature driven pattern
I have the following profile designed using a variable width In my custom feature I have tried the following annotation { "Name" : "Profile", "Filter" : SketchObject.YES, "MaxNumberOfPicks" : 1 } def.profile is FeatureList; ... setVariable(context, "width", 115 * millimeter); applyPattern(context, id + "sk0", {… -
Using Arrays with Variables
I am having a difficult time trying to accomplish a sort of "option" selection with a variable driven model. This is what I have so far. #option = "number" #customWidth = "length" #width = [10,20,30,40,50,#customWidth][#option] #customHeight = "length" #height = [30,40,50,60,70,#customHeight][#option] I'm trying to sketch… -
Re: Fillet Width Measurement Option Fails Randomly
Using a width measurement with an oblique angle like this, you're falling off the edge of the base surface because the nominal width of your 0.437 radius is much less than the 0.375 or 0.5 widths you tried. You either need a smaller number, or extend the end of the surface first and trim back after. Whenever a fillet… -

How to make different thickness square patterns the same size?
I have two squares with the middle cut out in my sketch, one of them is thicker than the other. I used the linear pattern tool to make a pattern of these two sqaures. It is quite obvious that the two square grids do not share the same length and width even though the original two squares are the same length and width. Is… -

How Do I ? Make a vertical width the same as the horizontal height
https://cad.onshape.com/documents/5fd587281ae10ca5381fb830/w/e545b0c197956d7f58969f38/e/1005151602729b69a8f62a5f Total noob here. In the above drawing is a sketch in the Part Studio 1. I would like to add a constraint that the height of the top is equal to width of a side. Not sure what I need to do. The idea is that all… -
