Re: Improvements to Onshape - January 10th, 2025
This release makes configurations extremely powerful having all possible combinations. What a big update. Thank you Onshape
Re: Improvements to Onshape - January 10th, 2025
The configuration visibility is great.
I'd love to see more complex logic allowed and using variable values to set condition.
Like if a variable is within a range, show another configuration property.
Re: Improvements to Onshape - January 10th, 2025
A few lightweight changes and one massive one: configuration input visibility is a clever way to get some logic built into configurations. Hopefully logic driven configurations gets expanded to offer even more powerful things than just visibility.

Re: Improvements to Onshape - January 10th, 2025
The configuration update is huge for us. We use configurations extremely heavily and this update is long awaited. Hopefully we can look forward to more configuration updates in the near future.

Re: How Do I Make a Hollow Cone at the End of a Hollow Cylinder? I Keep Getting an Error with Revolve
Thank you, everyone, for the helpful guidance. Yes indeed - the problem stemmed from attempting to rotate the full triangle 360 degrees. By reducing the size to one half, I was able to achieve my objective immediately. Thanks!!
Re: No export in 2d (dxf)
This is exactly how I proceeded, but I had problems with the dimensions. I was finally able to mill the 3 parts of my project.
I don't know exactly which template to choose when I create a drawing.

Re: Custom Feature: Gridfinity Bin & Base Generators
This is a great piece of work which has saved me hours in creating my own designs!
I wanted to bring to your attention some observations when I checked out the unofficial "specification" at the link: Gridfinity | The modular, open-source grid storage system for your workshop. I don't know if I am missing something but it looks like your bin base and stacking lip are ever so slightly different from that document. I've highlighted the dimensions which look out to me in the sketch below, which shows a cross section of a base below a bin with stacking lip below another bin. Specifically:
a) dimension of the 2.4mm wide face of the bin bottom vs 2.1mm in the "spec"
b) clearance between bin bottom and base is a little larger than the "spec", 0.427mm vs 0.25 (technically I don't think the 0.25 of the "spec" is geometrically possible anyway)
c) the slope of the stacking lip isn't 45 degrees.
I reckon these differences are well inside the printing error of most 3d printers anyway, but I thought it would be useful to run this past you in case there is an issue here. As an engineering document, we might as well be accurate, in case it finds application in more precise manufacturing processes.
