Re: Why is the ability to use and mate to the planes used in part construction missing in Assemblies?
Where are the planes in Assemblies? Why are they NOT there? Why can't we use them along with all of the Mate Connectors? Imagine the beauty of that scenario! This is a very serious need for this software! Let us not evade the question!

Why is the ability to use and mate to the planes used in part construction missing in Assemblies?
Thanks! I switched back to Freemium from Pro because of this deficiency.
Re: the diameter symbol remains even if it has been changed. please fix it
That looks like a threaded hole. Why not use the hole=thread call out?
Re: Render Studio Custom Appearances
I agree, it has come a long way! It's feeling more and more Onshape. They also really increased the performance so that it's pretty user friendly now.
There are still a few things like this that make it painful to use. I should probably go make some IR's for these. Don't really want to bombard the Onshape team with theses atm, but may upload them soon.
- Option to turn off live render preview so that it doesn't block out everything while moving around. Or perhaps don't live render it until the camera has stopped moving for 3 seconds. I can't move things around with the block out view anyways so we might as well be able to just turn it off.
- Having to version your document then go and update render studio like it's a different document is a huge pain. Needs to behave similarly to derive from the same document so that the references are live.
- Saving your own library of appearances. This would save quite a bit of time since I have a handful of common custom appearances that I like to use.
- Creating custom textures. I expect just drag and drop bitmap, normal, roughness, metalic. But it is much more difficult. I still haven't been able to make a custom texture even though I've been given instructions directly from Onshape multiple times.
- Environment: The background is still confusing, now there are two places to set the background? This should be simplified into one large button called "Environment".
- Environment settings that might be nice so that we know what is changing:
- "Use lighting from environment"
- "Use custom lighting"
- "Override background"
- etc…

Re: why doesnt this work? (never mind, had a bad bearing)
Way down at the bottom of this page:
https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/simulation.htm
"Composite parts are not currently supported in Onshape Simulation."
Sweep remove on 3D surface - not working properly w/o "keep profile orientation"
This is an example of a rectangular slot working fine.

Now, when trying to do the same thing along a curve that is projected onto a surface, it only works if I check "Keep profile orientation"

Without keeping the orientation, it won't work for my needs. As seen if I "add" a new part, instead of remove.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong, of it is not possible to use this sweep function along 3D surfaces

You have to give us the link here…
