Re: Forum Software Update
@rick_randall
I haven't found the preview button yet. I've ended up using the edit button more than I would like so far.
Hmm. I'm also noticing that at-mentions aren't working the same way.
Re: Forum Software Update
I also see issues with the At-mentions (work sometimes, but sure no more if I try to correct a typing error using backspace) and the link formatting, which seemed to work earlier today, but not reliably just now. The link apperas only to be active, while I am in edit mode.
Link example:
… okay, this one appears to work. Murphy's Law. The URL in my previous posting didn't.
It would be nice, though, if the URL opened in a new browser tab by default.
Re: Is it possible to avoid logging in every time the browser is launched?
Personally I use lastpass - you can even set it to auto fill your password and auto login.
Chrome based web browsers (Edge, Chrome, Brave, Iron, etc.) and Firefox also have basic password managers built-in.
Re: How do I create embossed (extruded) text onto a compound curved surface?
Hi, I looked into this and it seems to me that this feature aligns the text to the sketch plane of the path curve. This makes no sense to me. There is another FS that works better in this situation.

Re: Routing curve & Control point curve - Introduction of two new features for 3D curve creation
For the record, the kind of feedback and discussion here is precisely why we decided to deliver initially as a Custom feature. It gives us the ability to a) get it out to you sooner and thus get the feedback, b) push updates to you faster.
Re: Routing curve & Control point curve - Introduction of two new features for 3D curve creation
Thanks S1mon and Nick for your immediate and thoughtful feedback! There's a lot to process so we'll have to get to it in chunks…
To an easy one first, S1mon you said:
I don't understand why Processing an edge with say a degree 5 curve requires 8 or more CVs. Does processing always create multi-span curves?
Can you show/explain your test case for this? Did you use Approximation, and also did you have the Keep derivatives at start/end option on? Did you set the Max control points to 6?
A "processing" of an existing deg 5 Bezier sketch did yield 6 CP's for me:
Note that if I unchecked the Approximate option, then the 6 original CP's would also have been Processed in their original position.
Re: In Part Studio: How to place one part on the surface of another and merge them via extrusion?
Hello Sebastian. One way is to move part 2 (smaller part?) into position using mate connectors assigned to each part. From there an option is to extrude the appropriate face of part 2 so that it joins part 1. - Scotty
Re: In Part Studio: How to place one part on the surface of another and merge them via extrusion?
You can try to move part 2 using the transform tool, then transform with a mate connector or by translation until the bodies are intersecting. Then boolean them together to get your desired part
Re: Renaissance - Big update and a new tool
Renaissance has another new update!
A new tool has been added to Renaissance - "Remove Sketch Constraints".
This tool will go through all sketches in a part studio and find constraints that are missing geometry, and remove the constraints.
This is something that can happen if you are copying sketches between part studios or removing upstream geometry.
A quick and easy way to clean up copied sketches.
Subscribed today to get this and whole bunch of other great tools.
New tools added regularly.
