If you happen to run into this on Safari on Mac, try this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255341839?sortBy=rank
It fixed it for me.
Re: How do you create a sphere?
@rosa_baeburg - Your story reminds me of the trouble I had converting from 2d cad to 3d parametric cad. Everything seemed backward - and I struggled at first. Once you realize the programs work very differently (and there are reasons why they are different), you begin to understand why, It is a whole new thought process, It takes a tiny bit longer up front to sketch, but the payoff is how easy you can edit things later on (this is a real pain in 2d cad). Trust the process, some very clever people have dreamed this up, and it works great as long as you are willing to learn something new. Take the time to use the free self-paced learning courses in the learning center. And contrary to the internet, you are not going to learn this in 1 hour - it's a long term commitment, and is constantly evolving. Stay with it, and I'm sure that you will have that moment when the light-bulb goes off, and it all makes sense. Good luck
Re: The Perfect Mouse for CAD
That is exactly the same with my logi MX ERGO S. Really comforting to know you cannot get stuck with a flat battery.
Bringing Modular, Customisable, and Configurable Products to Market?
Hi all, first time posting but I've met a few of you at Onshape events.
I'm Head of Customer Success over at Infinitive, a configuration-to-production software platform. If you're working with or thinking about modular, customisable, or configurable products, we would love for you to join us for what will be a really valuable webinar for the community.
Seamless Workflows for Modular Products: Harnessing Data to Connect Design, Sales, and Manufacturing
📅 Date: 18th March 2025
💻 Where: Online
We’ll dive into:
- How to overcome the unique challenges of bringing modular and customisable products to market.
- The role of data in connecting design tools like Onshape, sales platforms, and manufacturing systems for a smoother process.
- Ways to reduce friction and simplify your workflow while enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The webinar will be especially useful for businesses big or small looking to improve efficiency, deliver better customer experiences, or scale operations. It will give you some really valuable insights and strategies.

Re: Bend a shape with fillet edges
Thanks @jelte_steur814 for the example. That's a nice way to approach this problem. This has been very helpful. Thanks @MDesign for your input as well.

Re: The Perfect Mouse for CAD
@euan_dykes mine is rechargeable only, and since you can use it while it is charging via usb-c it can act as a wired mouse if you are really worried about it.
Re: over-defined sketch
I would recommend working on more complex sketches with "Show constraints" turned on.
The two ends of the R46 arc looked like they want to be tangent, but they aren't. Even after fixing those and reworking the constraints a bunch of times, I couldn't find the unconstrained geometry. The sketch solver gets weird sometimes with things that were created from offsets and fillets. I tried getting rid of the offsets and adding reference lines to make all the "offsets" equal manually. I was still baffled why this was unconstrained.
I went back to a basic principle, which is to put your layout in a separate sketch and then hang all the "offsets" and tangents off of that. In doing so, I found a bunch of hidden (covered by other sketch entities) points which were likely created during offsetting and trimming to create fillets. I deleted those, and was able to make everything constrained. I'm sure that the layout sketch and your front view could be rolled back into a single sketch, but separating them is probably better practice to keep things more manageable.

Re: Bend a shape with fillet edges
To get these surfaces to look nice, you'll definately be needing some surface modeling. it depends on the quality you want to achieve.
Here's a basic setup you could use.
the seat basic surface is pretty ugly still, i just wanted to show options to tackle the problems you're asking about: arch, filleted edges and angled legs.
by manipulating sketch1 and the outer profile sketch, you can get a long way.
good luck!
