Re: Intro to Part Design basic question
Can you spot the difference? one is fully defined the other is not.
Onshape needs a link on the tool tip that says not fully defined that leads to an explaination and training. ð

Product Catalog (New Custom Feature!) ð
Hey fellow Onshapers! (and Onshapists ð)
This feature is a bit of a special case; it's a template which you can copy and customize per your needs.
The Product Catalog feature can insert products quickly into any part studio you want similar to standard content.
- It will require you to go in and change some of the code to match your own parts and configurations.
- When the video shows a product catalog, this is just an Onshape folder with part studio documents.
- Get started learning how to make your own custom features here: Learn how to FeatureScript!

.
This feature also comes with a YouTube Session to show how we created the entire feature from start to finish.
This is not a video tutorial, but rather a way to show how quickly you can make a real custom feature in just over an hour.

Re: Assembly Planes - Where are they?
Here are some past discussions (which you may have seen already):

Re: Coral pattern/shape on 3D-Objekts
I thought of a partial hacky solution actually! Since voronoi patterns are very related to the intersection of circles (or spheres for 3D ones) I used Attractor Pattern to cut a bunch of spheres into my main shape, then Project Curve to project those edges back onto my base surface like this. From there I'm not sure the best way to thicken each wire, but the thing that comes to mind is a simple custom feature to sweep a circle on each curve. I don't have time at the moment to draft that, but it could be quite simple. Hopefully this gets you started.
Re: New Custom Feature: Publish Geometry
Thanks so much, @joshtargo! I'm definitely on board for this kind of workflow and I'll try it out.
@S1mon re: "favorites" folder. I agree this was something I used to use. These days I'll often add an odd character to my "favorites" and use the search bar. It can be handy by way of having multiple separate lists if you care. For example use "." for some things and "~" for some things.
Exclude Parts from Drwaing(s)?
Do we have a way of excluding certain parts from Drawings? I just happen to have parts I need, but not on drawings. I could make another assembly with/without these, but if parts could be excluded from drawings just like from BOMs, that would pretty much awesome.
