Re: Is it possible to add to the default geometry?
You can create a mate connector (created at the origin) while patterning or revolving. That’s probably the best way.
Someone created a custom feature which puts some axes like you are suggesting into a part studio, or there’s a Mate connector at origin feature out there too, which I think can add three at once.

There are a jillion CFs that do this. Here's mine (definitely the best):
I know mate connectors are The Right Way - but personally I find them very fiddly. I just use this instead.

I definitely have issues with hiding mate connectors created by the MultiMateConnector feature. Also mate connectors that come in via a derive. It seems like these are treated differently. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature.

Is OnShape a mind reader?
So you know this auto colour assignment of parts and faces?
I was designing a bottle, with a bit of a pyramid theme. For fun I went to design a cap stone. Guess what colour OnShape assigned for it? Yes gold!
Was this a one time thing? Well just today I noticed my bottle looked like a dress makers mannequin, like my mother has. I only noticed the similarity because it was blue just like my mother's is.
What's going on!?😁 Has anyone else experienced this?

I finding it difficult to perform your method explained above.
Might be the method has changed since 2019, But I can't find a way to change the orientation of the mate after replicating it.
Could you clarify the method.
Changing line color of exported DXF
Hi there.
I just solved a problem I had and wanted to share the solution.
The problem is that while DXF exports of sheet metal parts can include visible sketches, these are all exported in the same color, which is an issue when we send the files off to lasercutting as the lasercutter will cut all white lines and engrave all yellow lines. In Solidworks, it was possible to set colors during export but this option is not given in Onshape.
Luckily, Onshape puts the visible sketches in a separate layer in the DXF so here's the solution:
Open the .DXF in notepad.
Search for the word “MODELSKETCH_VISIBLE” as this is the name of the layer that includes the visible sketches.
Look for the number 7 and change this to the number 2.In my case, the number to be changed was indented on the 4th line below the layer name but I don't know if this is always the case. If you want other colors, then here is a list of AutoCAD color codes: https://gohtx.com/acadcolors.php
Save the .DXF file again.
The reason for why this works is that AutoCAD (who made the DXF standard) uses 7 as the index for white lines and 2 as the index for yellow lines.
Also possibly relevant is that I save the DXF with "Release 14" selected in version.
Engineering Change Notices / New Part Introductions & OnShape
I'm currently working on our ECN process and NPI process and would love to know how any of you, specifically at smaller businesses have integrated OnShape with your process.
Our current process is very rudimentary, a google sheet and doc that we fill out manually and send out. Is there a better way? Suggestions?

This feature is limited as there's no way to create a symmetrical 'THRU ALL' cut.
(one could possibly create a plain 'pilot' hole using 'symmetrical' option & then IF there was 'internal' thread command…use it, which is why we're all asking I suppose)
Onshape:
In 2010, Solid Edge paid several million dollars for consultants to review the software with an eye on driving down mouse travel/clicks & general efficiency. The release that resulted was THE most useful & fruitful update to that point as it benefited every user.

Re: ThreadLab - Internal/External Modeled/Cosmetic Threads with External Thread Callouts
I'm fairly new with the thread lab tool. I use it for internal threads but I have to remember to override the diameter of the hole that the onshape hole feature creates because thread labs adds geometry to the face of the hole instead of cutting it out like a tap. Thankfully I use mostly metric threads and don't have to look up the diameter every time.
