How to deal with adding a loft guide when sketch is broken in pieces?

So I have a sketch that the loft guide I want to use is made up of 5 connected line / spline segments. How do I use this as a loft guide?

If they are connected at the end points and are tangent, select them all one by one: Go to the dialog where you select guides, click on first guide curve segment in the model, then clkick on the little arrow in the dialog to open the sublist of guide curve segments, add the other segements to the sublist, close sublist before you select another guide curve.

Just adding, the selection UI should look something like this if you've picked correctly.
