Re: Designing my own desktop for a desk
@masta_killa
You spend some time to design a nice desk, no invest in some real nice material, a solid material

Re: How to insert nut onto bolt?
The confusion might be coming from the fact that you want to attach the nut to the face of whatever flat part the nut will snug up against, not the bolt.
Re: Dependent surpressions
I mean suppressing features when a variable goes in or out of a certain range. The tutorial you sent works with linear patterns, not suppressing features.
Dependent surpressions
Is it possible to add depending surpressions? This would be a useful extension for being able to configure parts. Without having to create a separate configuration.
Re: Boolean subtraction not working due to geometry
I checked your model, the root issue is the height of the 0 number is not high enough. Do a move face on it to make it taller, then the union will work.
That said, I'm not sure what you are trying to do. The model is super super super complicated. dxf imports of text that is very jagged. Transforms all over the place. Extruding the same surfaces over and over. I'd start over completely and do it the way I did, using the built in text tool. There is no need for the transforms or the other stuff you have in your model.

Re: Browser based = dumb idea.
That's called SolidWorksfst said:Browser based apps aren't bad per se. I am personally skeptical about rental models where you and your data are at mercy of potentially changing pricing and profitability-dependent long term availability. Selling a standalone version or a simple-to-install variant of the server for a fixed perpetual fee with optional, paid upgrades would make the application attractive to people who don't want to or cannot buy into the current annual service subscription scheme!The server based variant would still have a maintenance advantage over local installations. One server to maintain, thin clients for the actual CAD users, still full local control over the data, having certainty to be able to provide the service as long as needed. That would sound pretty optimal in my book!

Suppress a feature if config variable is equal to 1..
Hi,
I've set up a configured part studio for a Generic Furniture Unit. Shelf spacing and number are controlled with my #ShelfQty config variable.
If my #ShelfQty is equal to 1, I'd like to suppress my Array feature (which fails with just 1 shelf in this set-up)

Grateful for any tips.
