Can anyone say if it is possible to to re align the view cube so that front aligns with view I have in the workspace in an assembly. This way I can bring the views into drawings as I need them.

No, but you can create Named Views of your assembly and use that in Drawings - see the View Menu below the View Cube.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEAI6
