Split, Android

I like that for many commands, a box opens up where you decide which entities are used in the operation. Sort of like an input parameter where you can edit the inputs.
For the split command, this is not so and on Android, it makes it hard to use.
I want to split a spline where another spline intersects.
If I select the split command and try to hit exactly this point, it's impossible.
I should have been able to first select the spline that is to be split and then the spline that should split it.
Is there another way to do it?

are you sure you don't have the dialogue window collapsed?
if you see a blue bar on the bottom right that says "split" with the check box and X box, try dragging that up to expose the dialogue
