I think user cannot hide helix created by transformed option also if he selected "copy part" option in transform as shown in below image.
No option is available for hiding helix from window and feature tree also as shown in below image.

You can hide a helix that is transformed.. but not a pattern. You have been added to the bug.Lou Gallo
