Revolving about axis through center

If I have a rectangle, why cannot i revolve it about the axis going through the middle of on of its side but only about an axis going through one of the edges? In the example below, the rectangle cannot be revolved about the selected construction line but it can be revolved about the other construction line.

The answer is similar to @NeilCooke response here - https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/comment/54542#Comment_54542

If you draw a solid line on the construction line you create a closed region of 1/2 the rectangle and this can be revolved.  The other 1/2 of the sketch rectangle is not needed.

When creating a sketch for a revolve, you only sketch half the section profile so that when revolved it doesn’t intersect itself. All this and more is covered in the free training videos at learn.onshape.com
