Getting a 2D slice from a 3D model

I was wondering if there was a way to take a 3D model and create a slice (right through the center) to create a 2D model. I would think that this would be possible, but I am unsure on how to do it. Any thoughts?

Can you please provide an example piece of 3d geometry that you would like to convert into 2d in this way? See https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/9107/forum-post-checklist-read-this-first#latest for a good way to show us your geometry.
Thanks,
Mike
I'm not quite sure what format you're looking for, but I took a stab at it here. If that's not what you're looking for, can you please provide more detail?
Best,
Mike
