How to identify/fix geometry issues with dxf imported models.

I am imported a DXF file containing font lettering into a sketch, then extruding. Most letter are ok, but some have issues. How can I find these issues.

The below link has some geometry issued with the 'e'

Very odd - I drew a vertical line through the 'e' (which is a common method to find where/why sketches may be failing) and then it worked.

splitting the curve fixed it.  No idea why.  I found it by moving the dividing line around that @NeilCooke suggested.
