Symmetrical linear copy

Is there a way to create a linear copy symmetrically around the selected object/feature ?

    What if it is not a feature, just a line or sketch component?

    No, it only works as a feature in a Part Studio, but not sketches or assemblies.

    Oh man... I need to make a pattern of lines centered around 1 line.  If I try to do two linear patterns one in one direction one the other, it won't recognize the second one from the same reference.

    Not sure what you mean here, but you can associate the distances by using the equal constraint like this:

    Or you could create 1 pattern and mirror.
