Rendering: How to remove a feature appearance?

Hi,
I'm trying to render a model I made in onshape on Reality Server. It works out well so far, except for those parts where I have assigned an appearance to a feature, earlier on, while working on my design in onshape. It appears Reality Server (and seemingly also Keyshot) cannot recognize or overwrite feature appearances.
That may be Reality Servers issue in the first place, but this also brings me to a more onshape specific question: How can I remove an appearance from a feature? There does not appear to be any means of removing or deleting it in the related dialogs (see screen shot) and it also does not appear as an item in the tree. All I can do is assign yet another appearance, but even after it has say the same color as the rest, and it looks like removed, it is in fact not, technically. The renderer will still see that as another surface property.
So: What is the proposed method or dark magic for removing feature appearance edits long after the fact?
Best,
Martin
