Copy a Part from one Parts Studio to another Part Studio

While I can copy a Part, I can not paste it into a different Part Studio. There is no Paste menu for this.

Help would be appreciated.

To get a part from another studio, you need to use the Derived tool. Derived brings a part from a different studio, to the current studio you are working in.

    Thanks Michael,
Once they are derived into another studio, are they editable in the new studio with all the steps? Or are they still connected to the old studio for editing?

To use the original steps, you will need to go back to the original studio and change them there.

If the studio is in the same document, the derive will automatically update the part. However, if the derived part is from a different document, you will have to update the version of the derived document for the part to update in the new document. Versions can be created by the drop down menu in the top left portion of your screen.

    Versions:

Right click the derive in the feature tree to update or go to the original studio:

If you want to duplicate your part with the tree also. Then you will need to duplicate the entire part studio, then delete any features you don't need (usually features for other parts if you have multiple parts in a studio)

Otherwise derive and in-context are the way to push a part into another studio for further editing, like Michael showed
