Can someone point out what i did wrong?

Edit the extrude that makes the grip and change it to "New" instead of "Add" (probably - your link is not found)

If the two grip sketches are overlapping (as they are now) then using 1 extrude feature will make 1 solid - make it in 2 separate extrude features (one for each grip) and make sure the extrude is set to "New". Or better still -make sure the sketches are not overlapping.
