After Import / Create additional new part studio

rob_wildrob_wild Member Posts: 6 PRO
I did search for this but I don't know if I am describing this correctly.

Is there a way to create a part studio for an already imported STP/Para file?  For example, after I have imported a STP file, it successfully creates a part studio with that part.  No mesh, all good. What if I want to create another part studio from the same file later on?  Is there an easy button I am missing?  ;)

Alternatively, take a look at the Derived feature - create a new Part Studio and Derive the part into it.

Right click on the Part Studio tab and select the option to copy that tab to the clipboard. In another document, left click the plus sign to the left of the tabs and select Paste Tab. - Scotty

Thanks Scotty, that would assume the part imported correctly to another parts studio right?  I think what I was looking for was derived.  Thank you for the answer though.  ;)

Thanks Neil, this is exactly what I needed.  The part imported but I was never prompted to have it imported into a part studio.  Hope that makes sense.
    Sincerely,
