Reducing a Part by one dimension

Afternon all.
Sure this has been answered somewhere but can't seem to find it.
So I'm building a series of base cabinetry, with an over all length of 1000mm. I want the same units in a 600mm version too. What's the easiest way of going about this?
I've tried scaling but can only seem to scale the full part, not just the length in this instance. I can reduce the overall size but I have holes in the part that I need to move in relation to the original. Holes that I have constrained to the outside edges are fine, but there are some that I just need to move in relation to each other.
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks
