Common parameter

Hello

Have spent some time searching and like a lot of newbies confusion sets in.

Come from the Inventor world and am used to having parameters I can pass around from parts to assys etc.

Can I do this in Onshape and how would I do it?

By parameters, do you mean variables? Currently, Onshape does not have global variables, you can vote for this improvement here: Improvement request global variables

This will not carry into an assembly, but you can import variables from other document studios with this custom feature that @Alex_Kempen created: Variable Library

You can pass variables and parts between part studios all you want.
But you will not be able to read or set those variables from an assembly.

Please up vote the request michael linked. It is very much needed by many of us
