I'm having trouble with hollowing out an organic shaped comprised of two sculpted solids lofted into a single part.

@wayne_sauder, loft Normal worked except the profile between was not what I wanted.

I took each piece, shelled, then Boolean them together. This worked.

@John_P_Desilets, I did the sculpture in two sections so to get the base the desired shape and then the Top. Doing both at once was not all that easy. Adjusting the top messed with the bottom. Thinking it over now. I could have just drawn the top, but that too is difficult with splines. Is there an easer answer then splines? Sculpture is sort of easy and organic where splines are not.

One option is to set the start and end profile conditions to normal to profile in your loft 1 and 2.

@dana_kelley262 You might get better results if you loft several profiles at the same time instead of smaller sections. This way the shape is more uniform. After the loft, apply the sculpt face feature and shell as a last operation.

Loft all three sections at once

@dana_kelley262 Drawing each profile using splines is probably your best option. Organic shapes like this are tedious and require a lot of geometry to create.

Have you considered Phi? See the app store.

@John_P_Desilets,  I see one spline. Is there more? Would you mind sending a link to that document?

@wayne_sauder, I looked Phi. $125 per month. I'm a hobbyist and cannot justify the expense for the amount of use. I did reach out to verify. Phi is looking into adding more affordable price options for hobbyist/non professional use.

You don't need to use a custom feature.
