Missing parts/sketeches/features

Hello Everyone,
I have had an issue that I can't quite comprehend myself here. I have used Onshape since Covid hit around 2019-20 and I have been pleased. Recently I have had students come back the following day for class and they open their files up and all of the sketches, features, and created planes are gone completely or deleted back to the first sketch. The preview image of the file is not the file image anymore, it is a blank image that has the letters "On" pictured on it. I have gone into the file history and everything is gone back to when they opened the file up this day. I know the kids have had a lot done from the day before but it is like the pieces of the file were instantly wiped clean with no record of them being deleted.
Has anyone else heard of this or witnessed this??? Having the kids' work and hard effort wiped away is frustrating.
