Are sketch constraints broken?

randy_youngrandy_young Member Posts: 22 ✭✭
I'm on Mac OS 10.15 and Safari.  For the past two Onshape updates, sketches have quit showing the constraint icons, even if a sketch is over-defined, irrespective of the checkboxes.  ie: on a new document, I make two squares in a sketch, with different dimensions.  I then constrain the two squares to have an equal side.  The sketch correctly goes red and marks the affected squares and their dimensions red, but the equal constraint icon does not show up, making it impossible to fix without deleting the affected component(s) and redrawing.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  See attached pic.

It’s possible, especially with Safari. Please try Chrome or Firefox or upgrade MacOS/Safari if you can.

I've tried Chrome and it functions fine so it's definitely a Safari / Onshape bug.  I've filed a bug report.

I've definitely had moments in Chrome where the constraints don't show in a sketch despite the checkbox being checked. They still seemed to be working, just invisible. It seems to be related to more complex sketches and/or more time with the sketch open and changing things. I believe closing and reopening the sketch fixed the issue.

Thanks S1mon.  Complexity and time usage are not a factor in what I reported. It showed on a fresh window, new doc, containing only 1 sketch that had 2 rectangles and 5 total constraints (2xlength and width and “equal “ constraint).  Something definitely broke. I’m on an older OS (I can’t upgrade without breaking other software I need) so it might not have been tested for.
