edited December 2022 in New in Onshape
In this latest update, we have improved multiple aspects of Onshape. Many of these updates have been driven by the improvement requests sent in by you, our customers. If you have improvement requests, please submit your ideas here. Let us know what you think.

CAD IMPROVEMENTS

ASYMMETRIC FILLETS

The Fillet feature now allows you to create an asymmetric round using two offset dimensions, similar to how chamfer works.

PARTIAL EDGE FILLETS

The Fillet feature now allows you to control how much of the edge is included in the feature.

MODIFY/ADD SECTION VIEW WITHOUT EDITING EXISTING SECTION VIEW(S)

This improvement allows you to edit existing section views without toggling off the current section.

GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS

MANUAL RECONNECTION OF A SESSION

This improvement allows you to reconnect to your session after a period of inactivity without having to refresh the browser.

CHANGES TO MY ONSHAPE

To reveal an ownership-first view of the data, 'My Onshape' is being changed. As a result, data ownership is now clear.

SHEET NUMBERS ON INSPECTION LIST

Inspection sheets now include a column with the sheet number where each item number, annotation, or dimension is located.

DRAWING IMPROVEMENTS

ENHANCED CONTROL OF CENTERMARKS

This improvement allows the adjustment of automatic centermark lines and the ability to extend lines.

FLAG NOTE CALLOUTS STYLE PANEL

The style panel now supports the editing of flag notes and other callouts.

MOBILE IMPROVEMENTS (iOS, iPadOS, Android)

CHANGES TO MY ONSHAPE

To reveal an ownership-first view of the data, 'My Onshape' is being changed. As a result, data ownership is now inherently unambiguous.  More details in the video outlined above under "GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS"

FULL MOBILE SUPPORT FOR EXTERNAL THREADS

External thread callouts can be created in the Part Studio for all mobile device users.

MOBILE SUPPORT FOR PUBLICATION NOTES

You can now view the notes for Publications on the mobile platform.

Love the asymmetric fillets! I can't think of a time I've needed a partial edge fillet though. Does anyone have an example from their own experience?

Wow! Brilliant new updates! I love the new option to edit the section view. This will definitely save some time. Also every new fillet improvement is super nice. I don´t know where I should the partial edge fillet yet, but its good to know that its possible.
    Best regards,

I dont' do multiple sections that often but maybe I will do it more now that it's easier to get to! The "reconnect" should save quite a bit of time as it can be annoying to have to refresh the window of a large assembly because it "expired" when you switch back to it and have to wait for it to reload.

I could see the partial fillet being useful if you have a difficult corner and the fillet fails. You could stop it short from the corner and do a patch surface in the corner.
You can also do some sharp looking things like this when you follow it up with a variable fillet although I am also not sure when I would actually need to do this. Assymmetric fillets will definitely open up some options!

Perhaps also a router path that needs to stop short. You can then finish it off with a revolve. But mostly I would use it to patch failed fillets like @eric_pesty said.

Thanks Onshape. Good improvements. The new controls for section and the center marks are my faves :)

    Nice work, thanks Onshape team!

@Evan_Reese It's also useful when you need to transition from a fillet to a chamfer or another shape while on the same edge. Pretty time consuming without this.

This new re-connect option is very nice. I feel more efficient today already.

I really appreciate the small quality of life improvements in these updates. The ability to edit section views without having to reinstate them will save quite a bit of frustration.

They have "mirror" in both sketches and parts.  What more are you looking for?

Thanks for the updates! One question though. Why is the centermark linestyle dashed vs. a centerline?

Oooooh, asymmetric fillets!  A tool I didn't know I needed but suspect my injection molded parts will now never live without!  very nice.
