Angle Mates

I am trying to open a door on a hinge to a certain degree opening, I have tried parallel mate with the offset angles and revolute mates as well the same way. Both corrupt the assembly when I try to include it. Is there a way to accomplish this? And is there a specific way that I need to do it?

Don't use parallel. Use a revolute with limits or a fastened mate and edit the mate connector angle.
