grey outlines when parts are turned off

I have been creating a multipart assembly. My first one. When I turn off all the parts, grey outlines of part of the sketches remain. I guess these are in some way unconstrained or unresolved. Unfortunately, I don't know why. I've attached a photo which will show more clearly what I'm trying to solve. Any help would be much appreciated.

Remembering the previous setting would likely be the least disruptive, but if they ever expand the preferences page, this seems like a prime example of a polarizing setting which should make it there (along with orbit vs tumble 3D view spinning options).
