add custom features currently not working for importing anything (help)

I've been running into a very problematic error when trying to import anything using "add custom features": when trying to input from a community document, add custom features seems to attempt to add the feature but just does absolutely nothing (when I click it a second time it says that the feature has been removed from my toolbar, even though it was never added), and when I try to add something already included in the search such as Keyway or Lighten, I get the error "Failed to add custom feature "[the feature in question]" to your toolbar. Cannot read properties of null (reading 'id')"

It is added to the custom feature drop-down, not the toolbar.

I already checked that and its not there

Perhaps you have that toolbar hidden? Right-click on the toolbar, customize, restore.
