Problem with Injection Mold Features: Can't create Mold Parting Surface

timon_bendertimon_bender Member Posts: 2
Hi all, I am sure you can tell I'm new to this and I am having problems getting a mold parting surface to work properly in this document:
The problem seems to be centered around the crank arm as there are vertical surfaces there, however I don't understand why this appears to be a problem. When I create a parting surface it won't extrude properly and I can't edit edges to make it work... I don't think the geometry is too complex and in theory creating a mold for this should work I believe.

Any help on how to solve this is greatly appreciated, thanks :)

There is no clearly defined parting line where the crank arm joins so it will never split cleanly. Edit your part and design the draft in. Use Draft Analysis to guide you.
