Embed Onshape documents in my application

ada_testada_test Member Posts: 4
Hello, I am trying to allow my users paste links to their onshape documents on our platform and have other users who may not have an onshape account be able to view it. I don't know if this is feasible already but i have tried adding the link to an iframe but that doesn't work. Is this feasible?

No, iframes are blocked for security reasons.

As Neil points out, embedding Onshape can't be done. The closest you could get would be to have an application that exports the studio as a common format like gltf and displays that.

You could try this experimental tool: https://modelembedder.net/

I think I understand why Onshape hasn't allowed a view of a part studio or assembly (or drawing) to be embeddable using iframe (or whatever web technology), but with something like a publication which can be read-only, it seems like a great possibility. I would love to be able to embed a view of an Onshape tab in a Miro board, for instance.

Is there any good reason, other than development time, why this couldn't be done? Should I create an Improvement Request?
