Extrude through all does not stop at the end of the part

When I extrude this rounded edge with the through all option it doesn't stop at the curve but does stop about 16mm later for some reason. I can choose blind and stop it at the far edge of the curve but that leaves me with a long edge on the curve I have to trim off manually when I print this. Any ideas? Thanks

Up to face doesn't extrude at all unless there is an additional setting I'm not putting in.
