MIdplane Face Pattern

Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find it. I'm trying to create a linear hole pattern in opposite directions (shelf pin holes in a cabinet side). When I select the same edge or another parallel edge for the second direction the pattern fails. Is there no way to do a midplane pattern?

Couldn't you just pattern the one side and mirror it?

Using face pattern needs loads of clicks to select all faces for pattern considering the amount of holes in cabinet side.

While we are waiting for feature pattern and mirror possibility; I would create the panel in two halves so that first create first half with holes** then mirror part and boolean those two together as one part. This should be easily editable and robust solution unlike face pattern.

I tend to drill through this type of holes/parts, it's faster that way in cad and in production.

** for first part holes I would use sketch pattern for repeat

Another solution would be to create 'drill' part, then use part pattern and mirror for repeat and then boolean remove so that side panel is target and drill parts are tools.
