Etching a curve onto a non-cylindrical curved surface

Hi there, I'm quite new to Onshape, and I've been trying to etch this helical pattern onto the face of this loft, but I can't seem to find a way how to do it. Does anyone know how to do so? Thanks in advance.

You can create a helix, then use it as the sweep path for a horizontal line which gives you a "cutting" surface body. Is there any way to make the size of the rotations complimentary to the shape of the loft as it changes? Because some stick out much further than I'd like them to.
