why does it say in^2 rather then mm?

right so i started using Onshape for a class assignment, so I'm still VERY new. The thing is, while I'm learning how to configure everything on the site, I am required to use Milimeteres for sizing. I have ZERO clue how to do that, at first, I though using the measurement tool and switching it to mm would work but it still shows units as in^2.

Please help, i am no confused 😅
