my sphere is not a part?

In adding parts to an assembly, a simple sphere I drew, is not showing up as a part at the bottom of the features column (the label says Parts (0), surfaces (1), so I can't import it into my assembly. Any ideas why this is?

Thanks,

Currently we do not import surfaces into assemblies. You could use thicken tool to make it a solid then Insert it into your assembly.Lou Gallo / PD/UX - Support - Community / Onshape, Inc.5
