How to extrude the entire outline

I am trying to do something simple, I am sure there is some shortcut key I am missing. Here is the most simple case of what I want to achieve.

I have a sketch of a rectangle and within it a series of concentric circle. I want to extrude the entire rectangle without taking into account all the internal drawing. Currently to extrude the rectangle I need to go over all the internal areas and select them too. Is there a way to tell it to extrude just the rectangle?

You can place the inner geometry in another sketch. Both sketches can be selected for their own purpose.

Either you need to select all the faces that your sketch created, or create more than one sketch. You can also make the circles construction and then the whole rectangle will extrude. It really depends on what else you want to model, and how you want to capture design intent.

Thank you for the help. I thought there is some button I could press and it would take only the outer geometry.
