Part Revision Number on Drawing

claude_sutterclaude_sutter Member Posts: 2

Hi guys

I'm struggling with getting the revision number on my drawings since I activated the pro-license.
When releasing a drawing together with the part both revision numbers are changed. But the revision number is not loaded into the drawing: only a "-" is showing.
But when making a version of the part first and then releasing it together with the drawing, the revision number will appear on the drawing.

Does this mean you have to make a version first and then release it? Why can't I directly release it?

Many thanks!

I do it twice. I make a revision on the part. Then in the drawing, I set the drawing reference to the revision of the part. This will have the letter rev of the part/asm show up in the title block. Then I release the drawing. This will have the letter rev show up in the Rev block. I got this method buried in a long OS document on release mgmt. I think a lot of other pro users might do it differently .
