How do I extrude an arc on the face of square tubing that has a fillet?

I have 1x2 rectangular steel tubing and I'm trying to draw an arc on the face and extrude away the sides so that the top of the tube is cut into an arc. Because of the fillets on the edges of the tubing I'm being left with the fillet edges . See pic. How do I get the edges selected to be extruded away?

How about adding the fillet(s) after the extrude? - Scotty
