How do I add spiral fluting

Making a printable fencing sword handle and want to have spiral fluting. I have a good shape, but cant figure out how to do the fluting on the complex shape.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for! Is it possible to use a circular pattern if I want to have offset spirals (every 90 degrees). Thank you!
Because the shape is only symmetrical about one plane, I think you'd have to make one more, starting 90 degrees off. Then pattern the two sweeps 180 degrees. Here is the first one patterned 180 degrees.

Actually you can get it going to an arbitrary number of spirals using some clever set up and a Circular Pattern set to "Reapply features". Side note, I'd probably use a single loft for modeling the base shape instead of extrudes and fillets. More control and cleaner result.
