Is there an easy way to achieve this plane?
So I see that the tangent plane feature seems to only work with cylinders which seems quite limited. I would love to get a tangent plane to a general curved surface. It seems like if I make a minimum bounding cylinder, make the plane around that, then suppress that part I could get the desired plane, but I also cannot…

Document Tree, like one would find in a family tree. Is there such a thing?
I'd like to see a tree showing the top level document parts and what led to them and all the way to the original part when derived in a document. For a derived part it would be nice to see the source and the derived tree to the original part. I often will have a base part that is tailored along the way up to the final use.…

How to Make Threads on a Bolt?
Hello all! I am trying to create a tensile tester that has bolt-like ends. I've found some decent tutorials on how to create a bolt itself using the helix tool and a triangle sketch to create the thread, however my issue is that I'm not sure how they size the triangle to adjust for the diameter of the thread they want. I'm…

Design Review Request: What can I do better?
I have been using OnShape as a hobbyist, mostly for 3D printing, for just over a year now and I'm getting more comfortable with what it can do. I'm happy with the outcome of my latest item, but I'd really appreciate a review of how I've gone about it and suggestions for what I could do better. I have some specific…

Why does this assembly fail when I add one more revolute mate?
This is a robot arm design I created based on a reference design I found online. However, when I try to connect any two of these blue-colored parts using revolute mates, one of the joints (circled in orange) fails to work properly. They move in a different way, losing the revolute mate-connecting the joint… Does anyone…

Help Regarding Feature Creation in OnShape
