Plane orientation

Do planes have a hidden mate that allows you to change their orientation? I tried creating a 3-point plane both ways, but the plan is "off axis" (aligned to the edge of the pyramid, I assume) no matter what I try. The same is tru if I simply create a sketch on the pyramid's face. But at least with a sketch I can manipulate its mate connector to "level" it back.
What am I missing?

Planes are technically infinite. The borders or edges represented in Onshape are just for visualization purposes. I wouldn't worry if your plane seems "off axis."
