Suspension mechanisms

Hello, I am a high school student working on a project where I have two wheels riding on a beam (one wheel is on the top, the other is on the bottom. Kind of like a rollercoaster setup). Every so often, however, there is an interruption and I have made a ramp for both wheels to go around it. I have made a suspension mechanism for the wheels to go up and down the ramp, but the things that I need to attach to the wheels cannot change their height from the ground. When comparing the center of the two wheels when on the beam to the ramp, the ramp makes the center go upwards of 0.5 inches, so I couldn’t think of any good way to connect this to the rest of the robot. The ramp heights cannot be changed either. Could anyone help?
