How do i wrap a Part on another Part?

Hi guys i have a cylinder on which i wish to wrap a very specific ring gemetry but i cant seem to figure out how to do it Can any one help.

This is the cylinder and this is the ring Cross section
i want to wrap this ring with the cross section as seen above something like this

Even with that specific kind of cross section? I think it'll at least need some added effort such as a sweep, after wrapping the path?
