Use sketch and model dimensions in 2D drawing

Is there (or could there be) an option to show and use some or all sketch and model dimensions in a 2D drawing instead of completely recreating the design intent with new dimensions? As it is, OS is leaving the design intent for drawings up to the detailed instead of pulling intent from them model creation. I would simply like to rearrange model dimensions to appropriate views/locations or turn off those that are not desired in order to add other dimensions.
