rotate part without straight edge inside part studio

rob_vorkrob_vork Member Posts: 3
I have created a round tube inside a part studio. I like to rotate it, head over head, by 90 deg. In the dialog box it asks for an axis. There is no straight edge on the part. Is there another way to create an axis to rotate the tube?

@ rob_vork, You can create line in required plane and you can use it  line as axis of rotation.

If it is required to rotate about its original axis passing through the center you can just select the cylindrical surface as an axis in transform feature. It will automatically treated as an axis as shown in below GIF.

But if you need to tilt it about its flat surface it can be done with the help of line sketch drawn on flat face as below.

@rob_vork best practise would be to edit the original feature rather than add an extra rotate feature. You can edit the sketch that the tube is derived from and select a new plane in the sketch dialog (that is perpendicular to the original).
