If you downgrade from a paid subscription to free, what happens to your content?

I know in the Terms of Use it says: "Downgrades and Cancellation: You may downgrade from a paid subscription to a free subscription, or cancel your subscription, at any time. If you cancel your subscription, you are responsible for exporting your Content, if you so choose, prior to cancelling".

But what happens if you have a paid subscription with i.e. 20 private documents, and you downgrade to a free subscription? Do all of the documents disappear, or do you end up in a situation where only 10 of them are saved?

@robin_billett Once your have downgraded, your account will become read-only and you can export your content after the fact.  We never delete or make your data inaccessible for download.  You can download, delete or make documents public.
